I hate Mathematics

and yet I chose to become an engineer. wtf?

I was going through Mathematics with Bryan just now. Both of us ended up so confused. A sample of his Maths question..

Elsie and Siwen have a total of 584 beads. After giving Elsie 28 beads, Siwen ended up with 12 beads lesser than her. How many beads has Siwen more than Elsie initially. And how many beads has Elsie now? Please illustrate using model drawings.

*sigh* Poor Bryan.

And now I have to learn this 'model drawing' method so that I could coach him. Poor me. *sigh*

Obituary

Texas Biscuit wrote an obituary on Nate Fisher of Six Feet Under. (Heck! I don't think this last season will be aired here. I gave up watching SFU a long time ago after our censorship board excised some of the gay-themed subplots. I'll probably order the DVDs from overseas later.)

Anyway. I just watched the premiere episode of CSI:Miami Season 3. (Yeah i know i know.. we're way way behind.) I knew Tim Speedle was going to die. I just couldn't stay away from those damn spoilers so I knew how he's going to die. And in a way it sort of cushioned the effect. Speed was my fav character and i would have cried my heart out.

But even if I didn't read the spoilers... everything points to him.. First was the trailer. It went something like "..this season is going to be sizzling hot! so hot that one of the CSI won't be able to survive it!" okay someone's going to die. And then there's the opening credits, Speed was moved to the last spot appearing even after Yelina! (i guess it'll be easier to edit him out). A few minutes into the show, an exasperated Calleigh said "I'm going to kill Speed!". Soon after, Horatio commented on Speed's mode of transport telling him he needed something with doors. Speed replied "there's plenty of time for that." Foreshadow galore~~

Rory Cochrane, who played the part of Speed, wanted out. But at least the producers could have arranged a better death for him. He died because he got shot. And he got shot because he was distracted when his gun jammed. And his gun jammed because he hasn't been cleaning it. It happened to him before in a Season 1 episode. And given his character, i thought he would have prevented it from happening a second time. And he didn't even get to shoot/kill anyone!

Okay, i got this off my chest.

Week #31

... for want of a suitable title. Nothing much to write about recently. Same old routine...

Oh! I almost forgot. I started brisk-walking as a part of my fitness-weight-losing regime. Been going about it every night since last week. I'll leave the house at about 11pm, walk around the neighbourhood and reach home at mid-night. It's probably better to do it in the morning. But i'm nocturnal.

I'm still terrified of that new road bike. I haven't been on it since the last time i fell. Hubs said it's probably going to end up a white elephant. Hummph! I will ride it ...errmm...eventually...i think.

I remember reading this somewhere and i was caught in the same situation on my way to work...... I was stuck behind a road-hogger, in front of a tail-gater, next to a guy who refused to give way to me!! wtf?!
p.s. there's some problem with my Haloscan comment link.. the window wouldn't open automatically. if you want to leave a msg, you'll need to (for win OS) right click on the comment link and open a new window. will try to sort that out. Heck! i might even re-vamp the entire page..
