13th Week at New Home
Have more or less gotten used to the new place.
We had relatives and close friends over for house-warming dinners in August. And it took us 4 weekends to cover all the immediate relatives and friends. So we've made full use of the bbq pit we bought. Even experimented with bbq recipes downloaded from allrecipes.com for variety. Luckily those first attempts turned out quite well.
Neighbours are generally quite friendly, you know, the usual exchange of smiles, hellos and how-do-you-dos when we run into one another. The locals tend to be a bit more reserved and will not make the first move to say hi. The expats are more ready with smiles. I've met most of our neighbours, usually at the swimming pool... so I often see them in semi-naked conditions.. heehee
