Mental Breakdown

Going to have one very soon..

That silly 'o man is driving me up the wall. He called me like 10 times today harping on the same issue.. that the contractor was not using the correct equipment, that they were not installing the sheetpiles according to our design and that he suspected contractor was trying to cheat. And after listening to his tirades I have to suffer his SMSs... samples

Hi , the existing shaft they r used 80 tone mobile crane also difficult to drill and now they r using 55 tnes and the vibro already 5 tones . The sheetpile 18 m cut into 12 @ 6 m r they afraid too free nothing to do then cut and join it . For yr info and record.

Hi , i just talk to chris Keith did not pick up my photo , so i hv to talk u . Chris say the blance of the sheetpile also use 12 m then join later , i say no u hv drill stagger because this is an jacking shaft , the existing shaft at a time went up to 1200 tones, don’t play play . i told him i inform u for your discesion. This morning QP MR H0 did said that the sheetpile can not take long time then come and join it would bond by soil.

Finally now from 18 nos to 22 nos they only provide 2 nos of 6m instage of 3 wec staff no body on site to supervise so i hv to talk to indian chip good carry on like this and mark the length and nos on to sheetpile. But they r not do the join imediate , For yr info. Slightly improve
.

In the end i called the contractor's project engineer. I literally begged him to please keep to the details shown in my drawings else i'll be bugged to death by my own staff.

The problem is I can't fire the silly 'o man because he's doing what I've hired him to do, which is to keep a close watch on the contractor's work. That and there's a severe shortage of supervisors now. But his half-hourly, long-winded reporting with all that drama is giving me a headache.

My boss is not helping much either. He was very keen on a Marine Coastal Expressway tender and pulled 3 of my staff to work on it. That put a severe strain on my workload. I have about 8 clients chasing me for reports. All are urgent and now I don't know how to deliver.

Now where did i put my Panadol..
